High Ropes Courses and Via Ferratas
In recent years, high ropes courses have popped up everywhere and this is the same in Corsica. There are numerous high ropes courses of different sizes and with varying degrees of difficulty to be found. Also, there are a lot of via ferratas, many of them quite adventurous with rope bridges and slides and similar features. From experience we can talk about the via ferrata at the campground U Rosmarino near Solenzara. We have done this one already twice and every time it was fantastic. Also, we know about the following other high ropes courses and via ferratas in Corsica:
Via Ferrata at the Campground U Rosmarinu near Solenzara
This via ferrata is located right next to the campground U Rosmarinu about 10km from Solenzara towards the Bavella valley. We took about 2 hours to climb this course. There are four gorges to be crossed with rope slides which require a certain amount of courage at first, but on the third and fourth attempt it is actually great fun. The biggest challenge is a net made out of steel rope, which you have to climb up with your back against the rock wall. Apart from that, there are a few ropes to cross and several ladders on rock walls to climb. Up at the top you will be rewarded with amazing views overlooking the Bavella massif and the sea. In our opinion this via ferrata is only suitable for grown ups.
High Ropes Course at the Campground U Rosmarinu near Solenzara
Location as above. You have to be at least 1.40m tall to go on this course. After having mastered the high ropes course or via ferrata, pool size swimming holes beckon for a refreshing dip.
High Ropes Course at Col de Bavella
This course is located about 1 to 2km past the Col de Bavella towards Zonza.
High Ropes Course in Solenzara
This course is located 500m north of Solenzara near the campground Cote de Nacres.
High Ropes Course near Vero
This course is located near Vero on the N193 (about 25km northeast of Ajaccio). Unfortunately we are not sure of the exact location.
High Ropes Course near Porto Pollo
This course is located near Porto Pollo at the gulf of Valinco. Unfortunately we are not sure of the exact location.
